【摘要】:Thistechnicalreportprovidessystemdesignmethodologyguidancetousersandsuppliersoffibreoptictransmissionsystemsfortelecommunicationsandbroadbandvideodistributionapplications.Thefunctionofthefibreopticsystemsconsideredinthistechnicalreportistointerconnectsignalsbetweendefineddigitalandanalogueinterfacesviaafibreopticlink.Ingeneral,fibreopticsystemsarebuilt-upfrombasicfibreopticsystems(BFOS).Asaresult,itisnecessarytoconsideronlytheBFOS,whichtransmitsasingleelectricalsignalbetweentwopointswithoutintermediateregeneration.Thus,theseguidelinesareapplicabletoalmostalldesigncases.Asaninitialstep,onlylasersystemsusingdirectdetectingtechnologiesinthe1310and/or1550nmregionsoverB1andB2typesofunshiftedanddispersionshiftedsingle-modefibresareconsidered.Forsystemsusinglongitudinalmulti-modelasersaboveapproximately0,5Gb/s,thecalculateddispersionlimitedlengthsmaybeconservativelylow.Bidirectionalsystems,inwhichbothdirectionsoftransmissionuseacommonfibre,andunidirectionalsystemsarecoveredinthistechnicalreport.Intheclauseswhichfollow,thetransmissiondesignparametersarespecifiedbytheirworst-casevalues.Itistheoptionoftheusertorequirethatsuppliersguaranteetheworst-casevaluesoverthelifetimeoftheirrespectivesystemcomponents.Someusersorsystemdesignersmaydesiretoperformanalysisanddesigncalculationsviaastatisticalapproachandtorequeststatisticalvaluesoftheparameters.ThestatisticalapproachiscoveredinannexA.Thedeterminationoftheworst-casedispersioncoefficientiscoveredinannexB.Someexamplesarepresentedtoclarifyconceptsandtoillustrateorderofmagnitude.Thenumberspresentedintheseexamplesareillustrativeonlyandshouldnotbeconsideredasrequirementsforsystemdesignorperformance.
