【摘要】:Manywebmaterialsdonotconveysatisfactorilyinmanufactureorwork,orboth,asintendedinserviceunlesstheirsurfacecontainsaverythinlayeroflubricantintheformofawax,particulate,thinfilmcoating,orfluid.Itisoftenveryexpensiveandtimeconsumingtousesurfacechemicalanalysistechniquestoquantifythepresenceofthesefilms.Asimplefrictiontestlikethisoneperformsthisfunction.Thistesthasbeenusedforovertwentyyearstodetectthepresenceoflubricantsonthesurfaceofphotographicfilmsatvariousstagesinmanufacture.Inthisinstancethesurfacesarelubricatedwithwaxesandthistestreliablydetectsifthewaxispresent.Itisnotusedtoquantifytheamountofwax,onlyifitispresent.Thistestcanbeusedasaqualitytesttomakesurethatalubricantispresent.Testsamplesarenormallycomparedwithanunlubricatedreferencespecimen.Thecoefficientoffrictionofthetestsamplesiscomparedwiththecoefficientoffrictionoftheunlubricatedreferencespecimenstodetermineifalubricantispresent.1.1Thistestmethodhasbeenusedsince1988asanANSI/ISOstandardtestfordeterminationoflubricationonprocessedphotographicfilms.Itspurposewastodeterminethepresenceofprocess-survivinglubricantsonphotographicfilms.Itisthepurposeofthistestmethodtoexpandtheapplicabilityofthistestmethodtootherflexiblewebsthatmayneedlubricationforsuitableperformance.Thistestmeasuresthebreakaway(static)coefficientoffrictionofametalrideronthewebbytheinclinedplanemethod.Theobjectivesofthetestistodetermineifawebsurfacehasalubricantpresentornot.Itisnotintendedtoassignafrictioncoefficienttoamaterial.Itisnotintendedtoranklubricants.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
