【摘要】:ThispartofISO11140specifiestheperformanceforaClass2indicatortobeusedasanalternativetotheBowieandDick-typetestforsteamsterilizersforwrappedhealthcaregoods(instruments,etc.,andporousloads).NOTETheBowieandDick-typetestisusedforroutinetestingofsteamsterilizersandvalidationofsteamsterilizationprocesses.AnindicatorcomplyingwiththispartofISO11140incorporatesaspecifiedmaterialwhichisusedasatestload.Thistestloadmay,ormaynot,bere-usable.ThispartofISO11140doesnotspecifyrequirementsforthetestload,butspecifiestheperformanceoftheindicatorincombinationwiththetestloadwithwhichitisintendedtobeused.TheindicatorspecifiedinthispartofISO11140isintendedtoidentifypoorsteampenetrationbutdoesnotnecessarilyindicatethecauseofthispoorsteampenetration.ThispartofISO11140doesnotincludetestmethodstoestablishthesuitabilityoftheseindicatorsystemsforuseinsterilizersinwhichtheairremovalstagedoesnotincludeevacuationbelowatmosphericpressure.
